Suvi Tupola is a contemporary jewellery artist currently working and residing in Kangasala, Finland. She graduated from the class of jewellery and hollowware in the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 2025.
Working primarily with natural materials found in her surroundings, like wood, branches, roots or pine needles, she uses these to talk about society and our relationship with nature. Traditions and connotations related to jewellery and tableware work as a language to broach topics such as societal structures, values, status, natural resources, and role of the environment in our lives and how we shape the world.
Throughout history people have had an impact on their surroundings, but in the past few centuries it has accelerated at an incredible pace. The planet will adapt to that change, but whether it happens in a way where the planet stays inhabitable for us remains to be seen.
